Our admissions process is straightforward. As a non-selective school, places are offered on a first-come basis. We recommend early registration to avoid disappointment.
ENTRY POINTS
We have three main entry points into the School: Coworth Flexlands Nursery (rising 3 years), Reception (rising 5 years) and Year 3 (rising 8 years) but children are welcome to join at any point provided there is space in the appropriate class. Children join Coworth Flexlands Nursery at the start of the term in which they reach their third birthday. There are three intakes into school – in September, January and April.
We are delighted to announce plans to extend our co-educational provision. The School is presently co-educational up to the age of 7 and girls only from 7 to 11. From September 2023, we will be going fully co-educational up to the age of 11 so that more families can benefit from all that our wonderful school has to offer. Learn more.
VISITING THE SCHOOL
Prospective parents are warmly invited to discover the school in action at one of our Open Events held every few weeks. There will be an opportunity to meet our Head, Miss Nicola Cowell and have a tour of the school. If you are unable to make one of the open events or would like a personal visit - be that a first or follow up - please contact the Registrar or submit a request to visit. Time will always be made for a meeting with the Head to discuss personal requirements.
REGISTRATION
Following your visit(s) and if you feel that Coworth Flexlands is the right school for your child, the next stage in the admissions process is to complete and return our Registration Form. The Registration Form should be returned to the Registrar together with a non-refundable fee of £100. As soon as we have your registration, your child will be invited to all school events which makes for an easier transition into school.
Upon receipt of these, your child is registered and his/her name added to the class list for entry in the relevant age group. Your form and payment will be acknowledged by letter and the registrar will remain in touch with you to guide you through the admissions process.
For a place in our Nursery, we recommend that you register your child by the age of 18 months and for entry into Reception by the age of 3. Children entering into Year 3 in the Prep School should aim to be registered with us by the beginning of Year 2.
CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY
A year before entry (or earlier if appropriate), the Registrar will send an Acceptance Form together with a copy of our full Terms and Conditions and request that it is completed and returned together with a deposit of £400 to confirm your acceptance of the offer of a place. This deposit is held on account and returned at the end of your child’s final term.
TASTER SESSIONS
Once registered, and or confirmed we will invite your child to attend either a taster session or a full taster day, depending upon their age. Children will spend their time within their appropriate age group and experience a ‘typical’ morning or day at Coworth Flexlands. Full details of the taster day, including timings and any necessities to bring, will be confirmed with you via email beforehand.
