Frequently Asked Questions

Where do your Year 6 pupils choose for their Senior Schools?

As we firmly believe that each child is different, our list of Senior Schools is wide. In conjunction with parents, we carefully consider which school would suit each child.

What languages are taught?

French is taught to all children from Reception upwards, introducing Spanish in Year 5. There is an after school Spanish Club from Year 1.

How often should my rising 3 year old attend Nursery?

Our Nursery operates a very flexible programme whereby parents may choose however many sessions they think will suit their child. Please go to Coworth Flexlands Nursery for more details. Sessions are booked a term ahead and we generally find a lot of parents choose 3 morning sessions (our minimum) for the first term, quickly building up each term. For busy parents, the option of sending their child to Nursery full-time may be a more suitable option for them.

Does the School run holiday clubs?

Yes we do

and examples include our much treasured Forest School Club, Musical Theatre School and SCL (Sports Club). They usually cover two weeks of the Easter holiday and four of the Summer break.

Does the School accept Childcare Vouchers?

Yes we are registered for a number of schemes and they can be used for Nursery children and wrap-around care for older children. Please ask the Registrar or Bursar for details

Does the School offer wrap around care for our child?

Yes, very much so. We run a highly valued and affordable Breakfast Club, After School Care Club, Homework Club and a huge number of extra-curricular clubs for all children. Ideally Nursery children need to be no longer in nappies. Cover is provided from 7.30am to 6.00pm every day (to 5.30pm on a Friday).

Does the School require my child to complete an assessment or exam to gain entry?

We are a non-selective school and once a child is registered with us a place will be offered in registration date order. Where Learning Support may be required we ask the child and a parent to meet our Head of Learning Support in order that she may confirm we are able to support that child within our experienced Learning Support Team.
