Nurturing Spirit Week
A week of fun activities for the whole school
Nurturing Spirit is important at Coworth Flexlands for the wellbeing of our pupils and staff as it supports mental, emotional and physical aspects; 'Healthy mind, body, and spirit'. We host Nurturing Spirit week annually to promote & celebrate what makes us happy.
This year we began the week with an assembly about how we can all look after our own mental health just like looking after our physical health. This was followed by a day of enrichment activities, delivered by Sports4Kids, to all pupils in school. Nursery enjoyed dancing to 'under the sea' from The Little Mermaid, Pre-Prep enjoyed a fun- filled pirate adventure that included lots of exciting games and Prep took part in Nerf Wars, fully armed with guns, foam bullets and protective goggles. A fabulous time was had by all!
Pupils and staff were delighted to be outside for our wellbeing walk on Tuesday. Much fun was had meandering around the footpaths on Chobham Common or, for our younger pupils in EYFS, enjoying a walk around our lovely school grounds.
Miss Pardo held an afternoon of fun and lively song and dance sessions with everyone from Nursery - Year 6 on Wednesday. Pupils enjoyed a variety of age-related activities which included musical statues, limbo, pom pom dancing and a fun dance routine to Nurture their Spirits!
On Thursday, we hosted the United Learning StorySLAM and were joined by seven United Learning state and independent schools for a day of workshops, culminating in a reading from each of the schools' champions, performed in front of a pupil audience during the afternoon. The finalists each performed amazingly well.
The week culminated with all of our Prep pupils visiting The Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden.
