About Us

Our School

Our small school ensures every pupil is truly known, heard, and empowered.

This year, our commitment to personalised and academic care has led to 48% of Year 6 receiving scholarships, and 97% of pupils reporting they feel confident, involved, and expected to work hard.

We give our children a voice, involving them in suggesting school improvements, nominating charities, and pursuing passions through a rich co-curricular programme including STEM, Football, Drama, and Computing which builds self-belief.

This year, our football team won the U11 Surrey ISFA Cup and reached the National IAPS Final - proof that even in a small school, big ambitions thrive.

Building Confidence

We build confidence through pupil-led school tours and regular performances; practical life skills through financial literacy lessons and weekly votes on current affairs (which also promote democracy and global awareness) and charity work to cultivate a sense of social responsibility.

We aim to prepare our pupils to thrive beyond the classroom, instilling a strong sense of compassion, curiosity and confidence.

Poppy, our School Dog

Poppy is a hypoallergenic Cavapoo and she has lived with Miss Cowell since she was 11 weeks old. Poppy is incredibly cuddly and very good with the children. Poppy has been a positive addition to our Coworth family and she brings happiness and promotes wellbeing to our staff and pupils who just love having her around.

The main reason for introducing a school dog is the beneficial impact that they can have on the wellbeing of both pupils and staff. Scientific research has shown that spending time with an animal decreases anxiety and worry, and promotes a good mood, supporting positive mental health.

Our School Grounds

Our 13-acre grounds provide abundant educational opportunities alongside sports areas. Many lessons take place outdoors, enhancing learning and well-being.

The nearby football pitches, athletics field, and tennis courts allow sports to be easily integrated into class timetables. Physical exercise breaks improve focus during lessons requiring concentration.

Forest School sessions encourage pupils to explore and learn in a woodland environment, fostering confidence, creativity, and a deep connection with nature.

Pupils also enjoy quiet spaces like the Peace Garden, shaded reading benches, and wendy houses. The large playground provides ample room for running, climbing, and swinging.

Parents value the spacious entrance, offering plenty of parking and a safe, calm area for drop-off and pick-up each day.

United Learning

Coworth Flexlands is part of United Learning, a national educational charity comprising over 30 independent schools and academies, including Guildford High, Surbiton High and Dunottar Schools.

United Learning aims to provide excellent education and improve the life chances of all children and young people we serve. Our mission is to bring out the best in everyone—students, staff, parents, and the wider community. Uniquely united across both state and independent sectors, we focus on making learning our priority.

As part of United Learning, pupils and staff benefit from a wide range of group-wide activities and development opportunities unavailable to standalone schools. However, we recognise each school is unique and tailor our approach accordingly.

We strive to make learning enjoyable, challenging, and tailored to each pupil’s abilities and aspirations, continually improving by adopting the best practices and supporting all colleagues.
