About Coworth Flexlands

Coworth Flexlands School & Nursery is a caring, happy and successful independent preparatory school for boys and girls aged 2.5 years to 11 years.

Nestled in between Chobham, Windlesham and Sunningdale we offer quick and easy access to the M3 yet we are in the heart of the countryside.Ideally located in acres of beautiful grounds with a forest school for outdoor learning and a wide range of facilities and opportunities. It is a happy school where pupils are inspired and nurtured.  Most pupils live close to the school it is easy to get involved in all out of school activities, such as the Cardinals netball club and the Surrey Academy of  Musical Theatre programme. This strengthens friendship bonds across the years, between peers and their parents and is an added benefit to building lasting friendships

Our spacious, light-filled classrooms with specialist teachers and small teaching groups provide an excellent academic learning environment. Our dedicated facilities for sports, sciences, computing, languages, music and the arts complement our academic programme. These combine to provide your child with a stimulating environment at Coworth Flexlands that builds a genuine passion for learning and a curiosity beyond any syllabus.

At Coworth Flexlands, we provide a positive education environment with research-backed ways of increasing happiness and wellbeing. Happier children are healthier, learn better and display more emotional literacy. Emotional literacy is important for developing self-confidence, boosting self-esteem, social and emotional development, and encouraging emotional self-management.

At Coworth Flexlands we focus on the 'whole' child - their intellectual, physical, social and emotional wellbeing needs, The whole child approach works on the basis that every child should be happy, healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged to grow in their educational environment. We promote a culture that ensures pupils are given time to develop their interests and learn the wider skills required of them in a safe and supportive environment, while still being academically engaged and challenged.

In Prep, we split the forms for academic subjects knowing smaller groups can improve pupil attainment through the freedom to ask questions, discuss areas of difficulty and engage in the collaborative work that so motivates pupils of this age. Whether it is physics, maths or English in a small set or coming together for netball, Forest School, dance or drama we aim for the optimum group size. The continued specialist subject teaching and collaborative tracking of the girls’ progress across the whole curriculum ensures the learning path is seamless.

We are immensely proud of our pupils when they leave us having secured places at a wide range of leading senior schools, many with scholarships. The polite confidence and self-assurance pupils take with them bear witness to the success of the educational experience we provide, with its focus on supporting the individual to take a full and active part in every aspect of our broad and varied curriculum.
