an independent preparatory school for girls 2½-11 & mixed 2½-7 years

Skylark Nursery

what's in this section?

Welcome to Skylark Nursery, where girls and boys enter in the term of their third birthday. Skylark Nursery is very much part of life within Coworth Flexlands School, joining in assemblies, concerts, sports day and celebrations.

Curriculum

Our Head of Early Years and Nursery Coordinator ensure a smooth transition from home to Nursery. Children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and acquire the foundations of mathematics, reading, writing and science.  They also enjoy computing, music, physical education and Forest School taught by specialist teachers who follow them throughout the school.

We firmly believe that education must be fun, capture imagination and promote curiosity. Children at Coworth Flexlands grow in their learning through carefully planned activities and self-initiated play, supported by our experienced and caring staff.

Our girls and boys enjoy light, spacious classrooms filled with toys, books, dressing up clothes, craft materials and educational tools. Our outdoor Nursery playground and woodland area extends our classroom for open-air discovery, play and Forest School. From time to time visitors add variety and enrich the children’s learning journey. Recent guests have included nurses, dentists, Zoolab, storytellers and musicians.

Our children feel secure, happy and cherished enabling them to form a trusting relationship with their peers, their key person and their teachers. This nurtures their confidence, builds their independence and develops a strong desire for learning.
