Social Committee
The School has a thriving Committee of current parents.
Its objectives are:
• To provide a link between the School and Parent body.
• To enhance the social side of the School Calendar, involving children, parents, staff & governors.
• To organise events for the above groups.
• To raise funds for the ‘nice to haves’.
• To sponsor a charity for the year.
The Committee also manages and runs the School Shop. This is located in the Car Park & not only stocks second hand uniform but also provides music books & basic stationery items.
The following events in which the Committee was involved include the senior school play, Sports Day/s, a Circus day & Prize Giving. During the Christmas term there is a Macmillan coffee morning, a Welcome Drinks Party, Harvest Festival, a Family Murder Mystery Night, the Carol Service & the traditional Christmas Bazaar.
The annual ball takes place at The Wentworth Club & planning is well under way for the next event.
Funds raised by the committee have been used to provide items for the
school such as:
Adventure Playground equipment, Play Houses, Pottery Kiln, Toys for Nursery,
Computer Equipment, Digital Cameras, Friendship Stop Sign, Gazebos and
Marquees, Outside Mini-Sheds, Sports Equipment (including balls, lacrosse
kit & goal posts). The Clarion Call text messaging system was also
provided by the Social Committee.
The Committee always welcomes new members. The only requirements are your time & enthusiasm! You must also be able to attend regular meetings during term time.
If you would like to join the Committee please contact us via the School Office on 01276 855707 or e-mail the school secretary.
We also have a Helper's Register for those who don't wish to join the committee but would like to help out at specific events.
Additional information for current parents can be found in the Intranet section of the website.
