Coworth Flexlands School is set in thirteen acres of beautiful grounds which are used extensively throughout the year.
Our pupils enjoy the peace and tranquility of the little nooks and crannies, like the Peace Garden or a wendy house painted by Year 6 girls; exercise in the big open spaces of the sports fields; love to explore the diversity of life and activity through the seasons in our woodland areas and revel in the freedom that a large playground offers, with the space to climb and swing on the apparatus.
The grounds offer a wealth of educational opportunity so as a school we do move lessons outside to enhance learning, whether it be a Maths lesson testing the capacity of water, chalking number bonds on paving, writing poetry, rehearsing drama, experimenting with science, or the simple pleasure of picking ripe blackberries for lunch.
The proximity of our football pitches, athletics field and hard courts allows us to build the varied sports programme into the day’s timetable. This is a strong ethos as we believe that interludes of physical exercise improve the ability of our pupils to learn and focus.
Our parents and carers appreciate the luxury of the large entrance that offers plenty of easy parking and a safe and calm area to drop off and pick up their children at the beginning and end of each school day.
