Rainbows

1st Chobham Rainbows meet in the Mais-Ogle Hall at Coworth-Flexlands on Tuesdays after school.

We start by having a biscuit and drink just to give us enough energy to survive all the fun-packed activities arranged for us to enjoy.

Rainbows is the group that precedes Brownies and there are currently sixteen Rainbows in our pack. We can wear either the sporty Rainbow uniform in red and grey, or the gorgeous bright red tabards. After five weeks, new Rainbows make their promise to do their best to love God, and to be kind and helpful. We sing to open our meetings in the Rainbow Ring, and then Rainbow Rabbit has in his pocket the secret of which activity it will be that afternoon. It could be any of these FOUR challenges!

A new member pledging her promise under the giant rainbow. She'll then recieve her badge, flash and Rainbow mug. The certificates are presented in Assembly.

We're all extremely enthusiastic and ready to face whatever may be in store for us. We've made New Year Resolution boxes and with our Rainbow love and lots of trying, we'll endeavour to keep them througout the year. We've looked at ourselves and made a collage; we've learned about our counterparts in Ireland - they're called Ladybirds, and we made their uniform for dressing up.

The Greek Night was a lot of fun, with Greek dancing, Greek dips and information about Greek Rainbows who are called Stars and meet in Galaxies. We also had a good laugh making penguins and filling them with sweets to share with our friends and families. The term isn't over yet and we're sure there will be lots more exciting things to do together!

We work towards earning Rainbow Roundabout badges and we love to play games, skip and sing. At the end of our time at Rainbows, we have a Pot of Gold Party and can choose (within reason) what we'd like to eat, drink and do!

This is the most important thing about Rainbows; we are very special little people who try our hardest to carry out our promise so we can shine in colourful stripes across the sky.
