Our History
Coworth-Flexlands School was formed in 2004 after a merger between Coworth Park School and Flexlands School, with Flexlands pupils joining the Coworth Park pupils at the Valley End site which provided unrivalled opportunities for the new school to develop and extend its classroom facilities. Angela Green, Headteacher at Flexlands, continued at the new school as joint Headteacher with Coworth Park’s Sandy Stephen.
Coworth Park was a day school founded by the Sisters of the Resurrection. It became a parent-operated company in 1971.
Flexlands School, an independent day school for girls and pre-preparatory boys, grew out of a small private school, originally situated in Wayside and then Yonder Cottage, Chobham. In 1935 Ann Mais took over the running of the school from her sister Katharine, and in 1940 it moved to larger premises at Flexlands in Station Road, Chobham. It was originally associated with the Parents' National Educational Union established by Charlotte Mason, before joining the Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools. It remained on its original site in Chobham until its merger with Coworth Park when the school transferred to the Valley End site.
