History

History is concerned with helping pupils to know about, understand, appreciate & value various cultures at different times in the past.

Characters from the past come alive again in Coworth-Flexlands School's fascinating History lessons! We aim to provide the children with a chronological knowledge of the past & of their heritage, as well as the necessary skills to interpret historical events.

Pupils learn about the differences & similarities between the past & the present & in doing so develop a sense of identity, empathy with & understanding of people who have lived in the past; an appreciation of the ways in which we learn about the past & a greater ability to make sense of the world in which we live today.

This popular subject is taught through a variety of different media & promises some exciting educational visits.
