Admissions

Visiting the School

Prospective parents are warmly invited to take an individual tour of the school with Mrs Anne Sweeney, our Headmistress, and discuss personal requirements with her. Visits are usually arranged in the morning and last approximately an hour. In addition, we hold a “School in Action” morning each term giving you an opportunity to revisit our friendly school and meet current parents, staff and children in the appropriate age group.

Registration

You will be given a Registration Form at the end of your visit to Coworth-Flexlands. This should be completed and returned to the Registrar, together with a non-refundable registration fee of £50. Upon receipt of these, your child is registered and his/her name added to the class list for entry in the relevant age group. Places are offered strictly in order of registration.

Confirmation of Entry

A year before entry (or earlier if appropriate), the Registrar will send an Acceptance Form together with a copy of our full Terms and Conditions and request that it is completed and returned together with a deposit of £300 to confirm your acceptance of the offer of a place. This deposit is held on account and returned at the end of your child’s final term.

Entrance Policy

We operate a non-selective entrance policy and aim to make the school as accessible as possible to all pupils, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, attainment or background. As an interdenominational Christian school, we welcome children of all faiths.

We run Skylark Toddler Group on Tuesday mornings. Children usually enter SkylarkNursery at the start of the term in which they have their third birthday. There are three intakes into school – in September, January and April. Girls are admitted from 3 to 11 years. From 2012, Boys will only be admitted to Skylark Nursery, at the end of which they will leave. Boys entering this academic year - 2011/2012 may remain at the school to the end of Year 2.

“Taster” Morning

A trial morning is arranged for all children towards the end of the term before entry. This is to familiarise them with the school, their year group and teacher and they attend normal lessons. Older children may stay on and have lunch.
